A MILESTONE FOR BETTY
After several months walking on the extendible lead the time was right to give her the freedom of free running with her pals - I’ve been practicing recall for weeks and felt confident with her response, along with her other pals who respond to hand signals. The location was right, the wide open space of St. Ouen’s beach with very little other distractions to confuse her. After a short while off the lead responding to my every instruction her confidence increased and when we came across other walkers she returned to focus on me with her pals, sitting waiting for my approval to continue. I’m really delighted with her total integration to the team. We are out again on Friday and I can’t wait.
All the others including me ran along the beach back to La Braye, lapping up the rare winter sunshine while we could. A true workout for all of us! As I drove them back to their homes the sound of snoring could be heard behind me. That’s what I call a result!
