Silent surprise

When it's been a challenging week battered by rain and wind, my sole was warmly lifted by a totally unexpected surprise proving that every cloud has a silver lining!

As if nature wanted to reward me for being there! Without a sound, brushing my shoulder flying overhead from behind me came the best experience this year - A Long-eared Owl flew down the footpath in front and alighting on a tree a few meters in front, the dogs totally unaware chased on head spooked it forcing it to move along the footpath. I whistled and the dogs came to heel this is when all the training is worthwhile, they sat next to me so that I could watch the owl only feet away, I think the crew were happy for the rest and shelter, while I topped up on my nature-fix what an outstanding experience, I totally love being so close to nature with the dogs
